Checking in from the Inand Empire! I’m here every week until mid-June. It’s hard to say what it feels like to be back in southern California. I moved here in Sept. of 2014, but was only able to stay a year due to a number of struggles and challenges. I’m the type of person who likes to finish what I start. So, I am back in school to complete the MA in English that I began.
Luckily it’s very affordable to fly from Portland, OR to Ontario, CA. My twins are seventeen years old and mature and responsible enough to deal with me being gone a few days a week, and of course none of this would be possible without the loving support of my significant other (thank you Michael)!
Not to get too personal on you, but I used to have a drinking problem. If I hadn’t achieved my sobriety, I would not have been able to find my way back to school and fulfilling my goals. If you are going through a personal struggle, don’t give up the faith. Trust me, even when you feel like there’s no hope, there is.
