In my last blog post I promised that I would start posting more frequently. While that didn’t quite happen when I’d hoped, I can promise that this post will be the first of many regular and consistent posts! One of the things that has been taking up a significant amount of extra time in my life is my son’s 7-on-7 football team, Eforce. This is our first year doing 7-on-7, and so far it has been an amazing (and BUSY) experience! If you aren’t familiar with 7-on-7, this article perfectly summarizes the benefits (in my opinion).
Last weekend we attended the Adidas West Coast Regional 7v7 Tournament which was held at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. Unfortunately the team lost three out of the 5 games, but they played well and got better as the day went on. Nile had an interception and about 7 pass break-ups. Despite being DIRECTLY in front of him for the interception, I missed the footage (bad Mommy).
When I asked Nile what his favorite part of the trip was, he said “The visit to UCLA. It was inspiring being on a D1 campus seeing what it’s like to live and train in the facilities and with the coaches of one of the best teams in the country.” I have to admit, it was the highlight of the trip (besides the kiddo’s interception)!
Before heading to dinner with Nile’s Godmother Marlena, we spent some time unwinding at Dockweiler State Beach, and got our chakras aligned. ? We will be headed back in less than two weeks for spring break and the Adidas National 7v7 Tournament. Go EForce!
